Digital Business Card with Multiple Profiles
A digital business card with multiple profiles lets you keep work and personal details on separate cards and choose which one to share. In Digital Business Card: NFC QR, one card is free; creating additional profiles requires Pro. Each card holds its own details, so you can give a client your work email without including your personal number or social accounts.
Start with the audiences you actually have
Create a separate profile when someone needs a different way to reach you or a different description of what you do. Work and Personal are a useful starting point. Add a side project only if it has its own role, business details, or contact route. For example, a client may need your company email and job title, while a friend needs only your personal number. If two cards would contain exactly the same information, keep one until you have a reason to separate them.
Choose what belongs on each card
Use the table as a starting plan, then leave out anything the intended recipient does not need. The app has separate fields for your name, job title, company, phone, email, website, and supported social accounts. Pro also provides a second phone, address, second website, and note. You do not need to fill every field. A work card can omit personal social accounts, and a personal card can leave the company and job title blank. Keep notes short and suitable for anyone who may receive the card.
Set up your first profile
Open My Card and enter a label such as Work in Card Label. Fill in the details for that role, then tap Save. The label helps you identify the card in your own list; it is not included in the contact file or card link. Use Job Title and Company for information recipients need to see. Check phone numbers and email spelling yourself before sharing. If the app shows an email warning after Save, correct the address and save again: the warning does not prevent the entered value from being saved.
Add a personal or side-project profile
With Pro active, open Cards and tap + New Card. The app opens a blank card in My Card; it does not copy the previous profile. Give it a distinct label, enter only the details for that audience, and tap Save. For a personal card, that might mean a phone number and one social account, with no work email. Save your edits before selecting a different card. Switching cards clears the unsaved form draft, so typing information and moving to another profile is not a substitute for saving.
Select the right card before sharing
Open Cards, tap the profile you want, then open Share. Read the preview, especially the phone, email, and company. Selecting a card changes the active profile used for the on-screen QR code, contact file, and card link; it does not send anything by itself. If you switch from a work conversation to a personal one, select the other profile before showing or sending your card. The app uses your selection rather than choosing a profile based on who you are meeting.
Check what the recipient will see
Test each profile using the sharing method you intend to use. Open its contact file or card link and check that the intended details are present and the excluded details are absent. Two profiles can use the same name, so check the role and contact information rather than relying on the name alone. The app names contact files from the cardholder name, not the internal card label. If both profiles use the same name, their filenames may match. Also avoid opening unexpected links on cards from people you do not know.
Send a fresh copy when details change
The app’s card link contains the details from the moment you generate it. Editing the profile later does not update a link you already sent, a contact file someone saved, or an exported QR image. After changing a number or role, save the card and generate a fresh share. Replace old copies you still distribute. If you accidentally send the wrong profile, send the correct one and ask the recipient to remove the earlier copy. Changing or deleting your card cannot recall information already shared.
Know what depends on Pro
Additional profiles require Pro. When Pro is no longer active, the first card in the list remains usable, while additional cards are locked rather than deleted. Pro-only fields are also omitted from new shares without Pro, although their saved values remain. Choose your first card with that fallback in mind. Check the subscription details shown in the app and Google Play before subscribing. Multiple profiles organize your cards on your phone; the app does not provide a central team dashboard for managing employee cards.
Back up your profiles before replacing them
Under My Card, find Backup and choose Back up all cards. Save the file somewhere you control before replacing your card collection. Restore from backup replaces the current cards instead of adding the backup alongside them. There is also a restore issue to account for: an older unsaved form draft can remain visible after restoration, and saving it can overwrite restored details. After restoring, tap the restored card in Cards to reload its saved fields, then check them before editing or saving. Keep your backup until you have verified every profile.
| Profile | Details to consider | Details to leave out |
|---|---|---|
| Work | Job title, company, work email, business phone, LinkedIn | Personal accounts and home address |
| Personal | Personal phone or email, chosen social account | Employer contact details you do not want to share socially |
| Side project | Project company name, role, website, project contact route | Unrelated employer or personal details |
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a different email account for each profile?
No. The app does not require an account to create cards, and each card can contain a different email address or no email at all. Use the address where you want that audience to contact you.
Do separate profiles give me separate phone numbers?
No. Profiles store the contact details you enter; they do not create phone numbers or email inboxes. You can use the same number on both cards, enter different numbers you already use, or omit the phone field from one.
Can I hide a field just for one share?
The app does not offer a field picker for each send. Create a separate card containing only the details you want to share for that situation. Check its preview before sending it.
Does selecting a profile change which SIM makes calls?
No. Choosing a card selects the saved contact details used for sharing. It does not change your phone’s calling line or messaging settings.
Can I make cards for two businesses?
Yes, with Pro. Create a card for each business and give each its own company, job title, and contact details. Use company names in the recipient-facing fields so people can tell the roles apart.
Should I send my backup file to a new contact?
No. A backup contains your whole card collection, including profiles meant for other audiences. To introduce yourself, select the appropriate card and send its contact file or card link instead.
Turn your phone into your business card. Business Card Tap sends your details to another phone with a tap over NFC, and falls back to an on-screen QR code when NFC isn't available. Fully offline, no account.
