Free Digital Business Card: What Is Included?
Business Card Tap gives you one digital business card with QR sharing, contact-file sharing, card links and backup for free, with no monthly fee or time limit. NFC tap-to-share is also included on compatible Android phones. Pro is optional and adds more profiles, extra fields, branding and other export options.
What can you put on the free card?
The free card includes your name, job title, company, phone number, email and website, plus fields for Instagram, LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp. You can edit those details in My Card and save changes without upgrading. A second phone number, street address, second website and note belong to the locked Extra Fields section. Seeing those fields in the editor does not mean they are included free. If one contact number and one website cover what you need to share, the free fields may be enough.
Can you use it with no monthly fee?
Yes. You can keep using the free card without starting a Pro subscription or trial. The app does not require a Business Card Tap account to create it. Pro offers weekly, monthly and yearly subscriptions; those are recurring paid plans. Choosing yearly billing changes the payment schedule, so it should not be confused with a free card or a lifetime purchase. If your goal is a digital business card with no recurring subscription, stay with the free version and use the features listed as included below.
Which sharing options are free?
The free sharing menu includes Send contact file and Send card link, and you can display the card’s QR code or open Big QR. These are separate from the paid QR Poster export. NFC tap-to-share is included too, but it needs a compatible Android phone with NFC enabled and the app open. Paying for Pro does not remove those hardware requirements. You do not need to buy a physical NFC card to show your QR code or send a contact file. Choose the sharing method that works on the devices in front of you.
When would Pro make a difference?
Pro becomes relevant when you need separate work and personal profiles, one of the extra contact fields, or your own logo and accent color. It also adds a printable QR poster, a video call background containing your QR code, and writing your details to a compatible NFC sticker or card. Those are specific additions to the free card. For example, needing a street address is a reason to consider Pro even if you only want one profile. Needing an on-screen QR code alone is not. Compare the locked feature you actually need before opening a paid plan.
What works without internet?
You can create and edit your card, display its contact QR code, and generate a contact file without an internet connection. Sending that file through email or another messaging service still depends on that service’s connection requirements. A shared card link opens a web page, so do not rely on a recipient opening it for the first time offline. Payment and subscription checks also need a connection. For an exchange where internet access is uncertain, keep the on-screen QR code available instead of relying only on a link.
Backup is free, but restore needs care
Under My Card, Back up all cards exports a backup file, and Restore from backup lets you select one. Restoring replaces your current cards after confirmation; it does not merge them. Keep a current backup before replacing data or changing phones, and store it somewhere you control. Finish and save any pending edits before restoring. An older unsaved edit can otherwise reappear in the editor after a restore and overwrite restored details when you tap Save. Check the restored fields before saving again. Restoring a backup also does not unlock additional profiles for free use.
What happens after Pro access ends?
The app returns to the first card in your list as the usable free profile. Additional profiles remain stored but locked. Pro-only fields remain stored too, but they are left out of new shared card data, and custom branding stops being applied. Plan which details you want on that first card before your access ends, and make a backup of information you want to keep. New QR codes, files and links reflect your current access; previously sent copies are separate. Editing your card later does not automatically revise a contact file or card link you already sent.
Check an optional trial before accepting it
A Pro trial starts a subscription offer; it is separate from ordinary free use. The available price, billing period and any trial appear in the app and Google Play before confirmation. Do not assume every account gets a trial or the same trial length. Google Play says a trial converts to paid billing unless you cancel before it expires. To cancel, open Subscriptions in Google Play, select Business Card Tap and follow the cancellation steps. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Check Google Play for its status and next billing date.

Frequently asked questions
Does the free digital business card expire?
The free version has no time limit. Keep a backup of your card data, especially before clearing app data or replacing your phone. A Pro trial has its own end date and billing terms.
Do I need Pro to add a company logo?
Yes. A custom logo and accent color are Pro features. Your company name is a standard text field available on the free card.
Can I restore several cards without paying?
Backup and restore are free, but profile access still follows your plan. Without Pro, only the first card is usable, even if a restored backup contains more profiles.
Is an NFC sticker included with the app?
No physical sticker or card is supplied. Writing to your own compatible NFC tag is a Pro feature. Showing a QR code from your phone requires no separate NFC card.
Will a card link update after I edit my details?
An already shared link keeps the details it contained when you created it. Send a fresh link after making changes. A contact file you already sent also keeps its original information.
How can I check whether the free version is enough?
Fill in the standard fields, save the card and try sharing it with someone you trust. Check the received phone number, email and links. Only share information you want recipients to keep, and avoid opening unfamiliar links on someone else’s card.
Turn your phone into your business card. Business Card Tap sends your details to another phone with a tap over NFC, and falls back to an on-screen QR code when NFC isn't available. Fully offline, no account.
