What is an NFC business card?
An NFC business card transfers your contact details to someone else's phone with a single tap. It can be a physical card, a sticker, or your phone itself — in every case what travels is the same thing: a small packet of data.
It isn't a card, it's a transfer
On a printed card the information sits on the paper. With NFC it travels electronically. When the other person brings their phone close, a notification appears with a contact record (vCard) or a link they can save straight into their address book. They don't need any app installed — every modern NFC-capable phone reads it.
It comes in three forms
First, a programmable NFC card or sticker: you write the details once. Second, your phone itself: an app makes the phone behave like an NFC tag (HCE), so there's no separate card to carry. Third, the fallback — a QR code, which covers devices with no NFC or with NFC switched off.
Who it makes sense for
Anyone who meets a lot of people: sales, consulting, events, trade fairs, freelancers. When your details change you don't reprint 500 cards, you edit one record. And you can't forget your cards at the office — the phone is already in your pocket.

Does the other person need to install an app?
No. The contact record sent over NFC is handled by their phone's own system and can be saved directly to contacts.
Can iPhones read NFC business cards?
Yes. Modern iPhones read NFC tags in the background; holding the top of the phone near the card or the other phone is enough.
Is an internet connection required?
Not to send the details — the transfer happens entirely between the devices. If the card carries a web link, the recipient needs connectivity to open that link.
